Love the idea of camping at Woodford Folk Festival but don’t have your own tent or the other necessary gear for a comfortable stay?

Well, dear Woodfordian, we’re here to keep your camping dream alive. Tent City can be your home away from home for up to 8 nights between Christmas and the New Year.

These heavy-duty canvas dwellings are for single, twin or triple share and have a fully carpeted interior as well as a 12-volt light which, let’s face it, can be one of those vital things you forget to pack.

Shawn and his team have been setting up the Tent City digs since 1995, so you can rest assured that your shelter has been lovingly raised by expert hands. You can bring along as much or as little of your own stuff as you like. Linen packs, including pillows, are available for hire, as is furniture such as tables and folding chairs.

Tent City beds have spring-based frames with a mattress on the top and are knee-high off the ground. If you’re a Season Camper staying for 5 or more nights, you have the option of a double bed if the tent is a twin share. Score!

Fly screens will protect you from any summer insects while still allowing for a breeze and there’s even an awning out the front, which is the perfect spot to kick your dancing boots off.

Tent City is located just 500 metres from the entry to the festival and is so much more than simply a row of tents.

There is a main communal area under a large marquee where you’ll find self-catering facilities including a barbeque, microwave, three cold rooms, sinks with running water, phone chargers, a seating area and complimentary tea and coffee. There is also roast coffee available each morning for a bit of extra coin.

And did we mention the hot showers in Tent City? There are around 25 of them.

Check-in is from 10am every day and check out is at 9am. There’s someone contactable 24 hours a day.

If you’d like to stay at Tent City for some or all of the 6 days of Woodford Folk Festival, as well as the nights just before the festival opens (December 25 and 26), simply purchase festival tickets that include camping, a vehicle pass and ‘Tent City Hire’ for accommodation. All links are provided below.

Upon arrival, simply exchange your ticket for a wristband before heading to Tent City. If you have a vehicle you can drive to the reception area where staff will assist you with parking. From there, it’s just a matter of being shown to your tent, moving in and heading off on your 2019/20 Woodfordian adventure.

Tickets to the 2022/23 Woodford Folk Festival are only available online here.
