Connected Communities: Transformative Change In Action
Across the nation, people are seeding and nurturing projects that are bringing change to the way we connect with nature. From innovative food projects, habitat regeneration, and growing our way out of waste challenges, to hands on citizen science and education in schools, the community is transforming the future. In this gathering, Costa will connect us with the very real outcomes of dreaming a better future. Get ready to be inspired and activated.
Conservatree and The Planting
Last year, Costa Georgiadis and Bill Hauritz spoke about the creation of the Conservatree project, an ambitious plan to build an arboretum of native plants and trees and wildlife habitat at Woodfordia. This session will report on a project that commenced in May this year that underpins the re-emergence of The Planting Festival.
Declare You Care
Costa Georgiadis and Cate McQuillen are teaming up to deep dive into the ten most profound ways families can choose to grow a climate safe future at home. From games to play around the dinner table to discover your eco family values, to the everyday things that matter, Declare You Care is a fun-filled, nature love fest for transforming our world, one family at a time. Join them as they get over excited about all this and invite you to make a declaration of care.
Synthetic Biology Discoveries Currently Saving Our World
Everyone has now tried lab meats, like Beyond Burgers. They taste pretty close to real meat. But collectively, saving the cost and impacts of meat production and saving animal lives, they are actually helping the world. Our panel of leading scientists will pitch their synthetic biology technology and outline how they are saving the world including microbes that make sustainable energy, recycle plastic, reduce methane and CO2 and sustainable clothing.
The Journey to Save an Environment
Join Spencer and learn about his passion to save native habitat for the glossy black cockatoo. He will show you how you, too can do this. He is joined by Costa and Elliott, to become a trio of formidable environmentalists. Ages 7-12
