Legendary Indigenous outfit Mantaka were icebreakers of their era melding reggae, roots, rock, blues and traditional music to create their distinct sound. 2018 celebrates 40 years of Mantaka music and Aboriginal reggae in Australia. Frontman Willie Brim is a Cultural Custodian and Songman of the Buluwai people of Kuranda in Far North Queensland. Willie is a self taught, multi-skilled instrumentalist and conscious songwriter whose energy and musical passion on stage highlights his strong connection to country and his cultural heritage. It’s no surprise he has passed his musical genes onto his sons who will also join the stage to deliver an impressive performance honouring 40 years of Australian Aboriginal Reggae.
