Each year, more than 2,600 volunteers help transform the 500-acre festival site at Woodfordia into a fully functioning pop-up town the size of a regional centre like Lismore – and some of the more unusual jobs to help make it all happen are still up for grabs!
1. VINYL LOUNGE LIZARD

If you can mix it with the best of them, then the festival’s newest venue, the Vinyl Lounge, wants you! Located opposite The Larrikin on the site of the old Little Tokyo Bar, the Vinyl Lounge is set to be the hippest joint in Woodfordia town between 11am and 1am daily where you’ll be pouring drinks to the sound of old school records spun on a vintage record player.
You’ll want this volunteer role if you love the bartending game as much as you love the retro look.
Also looking for people named Lionel. Geddit?
Look for it under: Customer Service in the festival period.
2. THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRST IMPRESSIONS

As part of this crew, your face will be one of the first our ticket holders see. How cool is that? This department looks after car loads of
patrons, volunteers and performers as they arrive. Put your vibrant personality to good use as one of our traffic angels.
You’ll want this volunteer role if you love dressing up in different costumes and are comfortable working outdoors.

3. GAMER
Have you played The Game before? This almost week-long mind-bending interactive street theatre challenge is performance art at its best and there are a few ways you can get involved this year behind the scenes.
The Game are looking for builders and a builder’s assistant to help set up in the two week period before the festival.
During the festival period you can support The Game as a filmmaker documenting three projects or as an assistant production manager or stage manager.
You’ll want to be involved in The Game if you love immersing yourself in world of magic and wonder.
Look for it under: Trade skills in The Build period.
4. SMOOTH TALKER
Safety and security is a high priority for us here at the Woodford Folk Festival and while we love to party, we also need level headed people for our Emergency Communication Centre. You don’t need to have any first aid qualifications, as you’ll work along side our official security staff answering our telephone help line.
You’ll want to volunteer at the ECC if you are cool, calm and collected.
Look for it under: Customer Service in the festival period.
5. S-BEND WARRIOR

One of the most important, nay, it could be said the most important aspect of any self-respecting festival is the quality of the, ahem, amenities. We still need a few more volunteers to help make our patrons restroom experience a clean and hygienic one. This is great for folks who like to get their work done early in the day, to free up the rest of the time to enjoy the festival.
You’ll volunteer to clean a toilet if you appreciate a nice clean loo as much as the next person.
Look for it under: Cleaning in the festival period.
